Lava Cap winery and vineyards are located in El Dorado County,
high in the foothills of the magnificent Sierra Nevada.
They offer an outstanding selection of mountain-grown wines that
are noted for intense varietal flavors and aromas.
Most of their wines are produced from their estate vineyards,
which are under the diligent care of Charlie Jones, Vineyard manager.
Low yields and lots of sunlight, warm days and cool nights,
all contribute to grapes of marvelous character.
Great fruit becomes great wine only with exceptional care and attention to detail.
Tom Jones, their winemaker, tends a state-of-the-art facility
in which cellar practices preserve and enhance all the exceptional
qualities of their mountain-grown fruit.
