Stop Wednesday, October 14, 2009 to taste Rodney Strong Vineyards.
Rodney Strong was a professional dancer in the 1950s in Paris, France.
He gained a love of wine while working in the City of Lights.
As his dancing career waned, he and his wife (who was also a professional dancer)
decided to direct their talents toward winemaking.
Strong has been quoted as saying
"I knew I couldn't be an old dancer, but I could be an old winemaker."
He and his wife, Charlotte became pioneers in California in the early 1960s,
paving the way for a budding industry.
Rodney and Charlotte, who once danced together on Broadway,
have gone on to perform that big dance number in the sky.
Those dedicated to their wine label carry on the Strongs' winemaking passion.
We are pouring samples from 4:30pm to 7:00pm.

For eleven years Libations Wine & Spirits has hosted a wine
tasting to benefit Boys Hope Girls Hope of
Colorado. New this year is a silent auction and 50/50 raffle.
In 2008, thirty-three distributors provided over 150 wines,
Belgian and specialty beers. Local restaurants
provided food, ranging from Indian to steakhouse specialties.
Food vendors include Bent Noodle, Star of India,
Bakers Way, Texas de Brazil,
Cheesecake Factory, and Saltgrass Steakhouse.
Expected attendance is 500 people.
Tickets are $45 pre-paid through October 15, 2009 from this link.
Tickets are available at the door for $50. Wine tasters
include customers of Libations Wine and Spirits and Boys Hope Girls Hope supporters.
Sponsorships are tax deductible.
