Four Aussie Gems
In-store wine tastings are back!
Stop by this Wednesday, January 14, 2009 to sample four wines from Australia.
It is said Peter Lehmann was a professional poker player, turned winemaker.
He originally called his company Masterson Barossa Vignerons, after Sky Masterson,
the character in Guys and Dolls with an affinity for gambling.
Lehmann is quoted on his web site
"If anything is a gamble, this is, so we’ll call the company Masterson,
Masterson Barossa Vignerons."
The company operated under the Masterson Barossa Vignerons name for a few years
and then was changed to Peter Lehmann Wines.
The Queen of Clubs has always been Lehmann's moniker.
As his brand grow he features a different image of this legendary monarch on every wine.
This allows him to support the arts,
by commissioning original paintings for his colorful wine labels.

The Barossa Region is known for its viticulture and wine making.
At its heart is the valley floor,
a rich strip of land exposed to the driest conditions and
home to some of the most select Shiraz vineyards of the area.
The Valley Floor Shiraz, like other premium wines of the Barossa,
is a regional blended wine.
Grapes are sourced from specially selected vineyards across all
the sub regions of the Barossa from a range of different aged vines.
Select parcels are then open fermented and basket pressed
to make a classic example of honest, hand made Barossa Valley Shiraz.
Langmeil is renown for its artisan winemaking techniques.
Langmeil Valley Floor Shiraz represents some of the finest
juice from Barossa in this price range.

Each sample is a one ounce portion to adults 21 and older.
