April 29, 2009 -- We pour Joel Gott Wines this week. Joel Gott has been a personality in the Napa Valley for several decades. Joel and his brother Duncan grew a fruit stand into the fresh food market that helped build the Napa food scene. He and Duncan started Taylor’s Automatic Refresher in St. Helena, a hip eatery with nostaligic roots, which has grown to several other locations. Along with having an impressive career in the food industry, Joel has been winemaker for several wine producers. He is one of the original Three Thieves. Gott and his wife, Sarah (winemaker at Joseph Phelps and Quintessa) decided to start their own wine as a custom label. Soon, the demand created by their talent convinced them to create their own brand. The marriage of food and wine in the Gotts' lives is apparent in every sip. If you have not tried Joel and Sarah's wines, you should stop by on Wednesday. They are very special and you will agree are a great value for the money.

Barokes Chardonnay, Sparkling Blanc de Blancs, Shiraz, and Blanc de Noir all sold in a cute little 4 pack with a handle. Each can is 250ml, which means the six pack equates to less than $10 a standard 750ml bottle, yet they are in smaller containers. Great for camping, hiking, concerts, golf courses, poolside and all your fun summer activities! Take them where glass is not welcome.
